backup the cx3 configuration?

I just got cx3 so please forgive my symm-think. I'm wondering if there is some part of the cx3 configuration I should be backing up on a reqular basis? I'm thinking along the lines of masking db on the symm.

Bruce,
You can create a record of the system configuration with the arrayconf -capture command in Secure CLI. This will make a copy of all the user settable attributes of the system, SP addresses, cache settings, RAID Groups, LUNs, SnapView structures, Storage Groups etc. Its tamperproof output can be used with -duplicate to recreate the configuration on matching hardware. You could create a script to capture this periodically.

Bruce I'm not a big Clariion expert .. But AFAIK Clariion is a lot different from DMX .. with Clariion you have a reserved area on the first 5 drives (maybe it's called PSM) where the storage stores it's configuration. But let's wait for some experts to add something to this thread :-)

It was introduced in Release 24 so any Cx3/5/7 or CX3 series system running 24 and up will support it

Yes, that and the nice report functions built in to 24. I've got ECC with Storage Scope, but there are still some reports that are nicer coming from the CLARiiONs themselves!!!

Oh, and the new fastbind for all LUN binding. If you know what I'm talking about I probably don't have to say any more. If you don't know, you HAVE to get to 24!
