Can I convert an incompatible disk?
I have a CX-500 with FLARE 2.19.500.5.014 and NaviSphere 6.19.0.4.15
I needed to replace one of the 300GB FC hard disks, and my colleague purchased a few ST3300007FCV thinking all were the same.
The P/N is 100-880-817, which we have now come to the conclusion is meant for the Symmetrix, and I am guessing, has formatting, firmware, and microcode incompatible with our CX-500, since it didn't work when we inserted into the DAE.
So, is there any way to convert this disk to work with the Clariion, or are we out of luck?
Thanks for your help.

This drive with P\N 100-880-817 is not compatible with CLARiiON and there is no workaround for this. You will need a replacement drive with the same part number as that of the failed drive.
Hope this answers your query.

Thanks Sadik for your quick response.
Unfortunately, that was the answer I was afraid of.
