Changing the memory utilized by SP

Hi,

In Navisphere, you can see the amount of memory being used by the SP's under Properties of the Storagae Array -->Memory Tab. The rest of the free memory is used to set the READ & WRITE CACHE.

Suppose my SP's memory usage is 790 MB of out installed memory of 1024 MB. I am left with 334 MB to distribute between read & write cache. I want to increase the memory for my cache usage. Is there any option or way out to change the memory used by SP ?

Regards,

The memory allocated for use by the SP itself is predetermined and can't be changed. Cache limits are documented in the Open Systems Configuration Guide available on Powerlink.

If you wan't to change the cache settings you have to disable the cache; then you can change the settings and then reenable the cache. During the time you'll have a performance impact (due to the reason that to don't have the cache enabled...)
so don't to that when you have heavy load on the system.

You can't change the memory used by the SP itself. What's left is what you can use for caching. But don't worry, the SP's don't use up all your memory; there should be plenty left for reasonable R and W cache and the bigger and better the Clariion, the more memory will be left over for R and W cache.
