CX500 192.168.1.1/setup connection reset on both SPs

We have a 'new' CX500 system with 2 new SPs, spa, spb.  We are able to serial connect and PPOS to the system and access Navisphere through the 192.168.1.1/start.html URL no problem..  HOwever we are unable to add the arrays to the SP and create new Domain because everytime we try to connect to the 192.168.1.1/setup or setup.html we just get a connection reset error or connection closed.

we have tried multiple browsers, IE7, diff java versions, resetting security in navisphere etc, but we can't get into the setup page to be able to create the new domain and add the arrays back into it.   Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks!

These two new SPs are not the original ones? I mean, from the same system?

You can try to re-image the system (reinstall the OS on the first five disks), but only EMC engineers and service partners can download the image from EMC Service Partner Web.

correct.  both of our original ones died.  We had to purchase two new SPs.   We are able to get into the windowsxp embedded portion of the OS with emc remote, but its evt viewer is throwing all kinds of errors about not being able to access the D:\ and related files for LUNS, which I am assuming are part of the Unix Flare OS.  Our SPs will reboot 4-5 times then come up to where we can connect into them.  So it almost sounds like we have to reimage the OS on the first 5 disks.  Is there a way to recover/reload it from a utility partition?

Let me ask this too.  Is it possible if we replace two SPs with brand new ones that we would need to do some sort of serial number work on the SPs for the existing flareOS to recognize them and use them?  Possibly from the diagnostic menu?

The flare OS is stored on the first five disks (Vault) on the in the DPE enclosure. The flare drives also contain the configuration information of the array - including the IP addresses for the SP management ports, the raid group configuration, etc. When you replace an SP, the software detects the new component and updates the flare database with the new serial number - but the rest of the configuration stays the same.

When you are logged into Navisphere over the serial ports, you can right click on SPA (under the Hardware tree) and select Properties, then the Network tab - that will show you what the SP management port is set to. Then you use that address to access the /setup page. Same for SPB.

To setup the Domain, you need to connect a host to the SP Management Port IP address (this should not be the serial port IP address) and start Navisphere using the SPA or SPB Management Port IP address. But the Domain information should not have changed when you replaced the SP's.
