device id shows different on different hosts

when i say LUN ID ..tha'ts from ESX perspective ..on the Clariion side it would relate to Host ID column in the storage group.

Basically you can see the difference under the device id column.

image host2.jpg is tiny ..can't see anything on it.  If all ESX hosts are part of the same storage group then LUN id should be identical.

nope, no impact ..do it for each SP

let's rule out it's not Navisphere being flaky , can you restart Management server on each SP ? http://SP/setup

what will this affect? will it take anything offline?

same issue. restarted both SPs. why would one host show device id like that?

let's check something else. Select storage group properties, Hosts tab ..enter engineering mode (Ctrl+Shift+F12 ..messner). Select Advanced and make sure all paths are checked.

is there a default engineering mode password?

i don't know at this point, cosmetic bug ?

Basic questions:

- are both the ESX hosts in the same Storage Group?

- are the number of Paths for both hosts the sames when viewed from the CLARiiON in Connectivity Status?

- what is the array and the flare version?

- what version of ESX are you running on the two ESX hosts?

- What is the failover mode on the array for both hosts?

- what is the failover policy for the hosts - Fixed, Round Robin, MRU?
