Adding to what has been already discussed, When you add 450GB Disk with 15krpm to an existing DAE with less rpm and capacity then you are at a loss if there are no plans for Capacity and Performance Expansion for that particular Storage System. The drive capacity & rpm would be under-utilized.
Though replacing higher capacity and rpm disk won't do any harm to this storage system but I would recommend, If you have other storage system with 450GB/15k drive enclosures you may use the disk for those storage system in future and get this replaced with 400GB/10krpm
I would also recommend to check All Disk & FLARE OE Compatibility Matrix before replacement and for future references!

is your question "can you replace 400G failed disk with 450G disk ?", yes you can ..you will lose the extra 50G of capacity.
