EMC CX200 SP B not linking up.

OK.  All seems to be working for connecting my old Dell/EMC CX200 to a new Windows 2008 OS.  However, it looks like the SP B link does not want to link up.

1. I create LUN 0 to use SP A.  LUN 0 shows up in Windows's Disk Management and I can use it.

2. I create LUN 1 to use SP B.  LUn 1 does not show up.  The port of the Brocade switch that SP B is connected to does not light up.  I've swapped cables and swapped ports but the link SPA always lights up but not the SP B link.

Is there something I need to make SP B enable to properly link up?  Hope my problem description makes sense.

Good question Dynamox.   If both ports are not working,  you can try to reboot the SP.   I have seen on these older CX models that the ports will go bad.  The bad thing with that scenario is that if they are bad, you will need to replace the whole SP.  THe SP ports on CX200/400/600 are not swappable and so you would have to replace the whole SP:(

Yes.  Both ports on SP B don't seem to link up. I'm also getting the "Agent denied request -- Caller not priveleged." when trying to Set Privileged User or Apply Settings for changing the hostname.

Do youhave any faults for SPB on the system?

You can either reboot the whole system or just SPB.  If you just do SPB, make sure all LUN's are trespassed over to SPA and then pull out SPB for 30 seconds. push it back in and let it boot up for the next few minutes.

If your CX200 is not showing any faults and this doesnt bring SPB ports back online, you might need to replace the storage processor.

the "Caller not privledged" sounds like the agent is not comunicating properly...

I'm going to go with SP B being bad.  Thanks all.
