failover/multipathing with CX700

on the rear of my CX700 i have 4 fiber connection (0,1,2,3). in addition i have 2 windows initiators each one with dual ports HBA (0,1) that i want to connect to the target. if i want to setup a multipathing or failover do i need to connect host1/port0 to SPA/port0 and host1/port1 to SPB/port2 + host2/port0 to SPA/port1 and host2/port1 to SPB/port3 ? as i know looking on the rear of the storage, SPA is always on the right and SPB is always on the left - this mean that the fiber connection 0 and 1 is for SPA and 2 and 3 for SPB (even though the 0 and 1 is on the left and 2 and 3 is on the right) not sure which ports associate with which SP?

Also if i understand correctly from other disscutions here, i can setup multipathing/ pathfailover with my two initiators even without fabric topology.
please advice guys what my best practice in this environment

    On a CX700 you can clearly see both SP's. Each SP has 4 ports AFAIK (so 8 ports in total).

    For failover to work HBA0 needs to be connected to 1 port of either SP and HBA1 needs to be connected to 1 port of the other SP. That's it.

    Then you need to register your host and install a licensed PPath.

    As long as you don't connect both HBA's to 1 SP, but to 2 SP's instead you're good to go. So with a CX700 you can direct connect 4 hosts with 2 HBA's each.

    A correction - on the CX700 SPA is on the bottom and SPB is on the top and up-side-down compared to SPA.

    The SP's are identical, one on top of the other, the top SP is up-side down.
