LUN needs to be formatted after formatting the server
Hello,
I have a windows 2003 server with a LUN assigned on a CX3-20 CLARiiON. I formatted the server and I need to assign the same LUN as it has data on. When the server sees the LUN in the disk management, it cannot open it unless I format it, but the data is valuable and i can't format.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Type "diskpart"
Type "automount disable"
Type exit to close diskpart
Type exit to close the DOS box
Now attach the existing LUN's
You now should be able to import the LUN's one by one and leave the data intact

Thanks for your reply, I don't exactly recall if it was basic or dynamic. All i can remember is that it offers formatting inorder to open the disk (LUN).
does it differ a lot ?

- Automount disable
- Automount scrub
I was told you need to use these commands before attaching the HBA's.

I would like the answer both if this was a dynamic disk or a basic disk.
thanks.

Install the server inclusing service packs and everything
Open DOS box
Start diskpart (it comes with sp1 AFAIK)
Run the automount commands
Attach the LUN in the Storage Group again
You should be ok now.
