PowerPath showing dead links

Hello,

I am having an issue with a windows 2003 64 bit server.  It is running Powerpath 5.3 build 311.

This host was attached to a CX3-80 and needed to be migrated over to a CX4-480.  We zoned the host to both arrays and presented the new lun's from the cx4-480.  The consultant we used for the migration used Open Migrator to perform the migration.  THe migration was completed and we removed the old luns from the 3-80 and deleted the old zones.  Nothing shows up on the cx3-80 for this host anymore.

We noticed some dead links after the  migration and i cleared them up with powermt check.   But whenever the host is rebooted, they keep coming back.  Here is an output of powermt display dev=all

C:\Program Files\EMC\PowerPath>powermt display dev=all

I cant seem to figure out why they keep coming back after a reboot other then something in the registry...

Has anyone seen this issue or have an idea of how to fix it?

Thanks

there you go. You can rename it to powermt.backup or something.

I did find the powermt.custom file.   before i delete it, can you tell me what it does or how is it created?  does it hold old configuration info or something?

Look for a file “powermt.custom” ..if you find it ..delete it and reboot the box.
