Recover an unbind lun

Question

Hi All...

I have unbind a lun due to space issues as we had backups to restore to but now found that we cannot use those backups somehow. We did not have any activity on the CX after the lun was unbound. I have known from friends that EMC can provide some script to run to recover the unbound lun if no new lun creation / modification activity was done on that array. Can someone throw some light on this ? Do let me know if any procedure is available for recovery.

This is CX700 lun but no maintenance as its being used for development now.

A non destructive bind ? Interesting and good to know

IF you have not done any binding it is sometimes possible for engineering on my side to bind the spot that had the old lun without formatting over what was there.

If you have a new set of SPCollects from right before the unbind and one from after, you may be in luck. Need to open a case though. Nothing that us mere mortal support techs can do.

it has to be done by EMC engineering and since you don't have a maintenance contract it will be tough to get it done. You might get it done as 'Times & Material' but it is not cheap. No tape backups ?
