In Navisphere Manager, click on the 'File' pulldown, and select 'Configure Centralized Monitor...', then rightclick on 'portal', and select 'add' where you would input your workstation IP address.

Sorry, I've just realized I wasn't using the off-array when I submitted my post.....

Please  from my previous notes change ''Portal Configuration' with 'Configure Centralized Monitor'....and 'Add Storage System' with 'Add Centralized Event monitor'. The rest of the process should be identical.

Hi there,

I normally click on the 'Tools' tab in the Navisphere GUI and select 'Portal Configuration'. In this window I right click 'Portals' and select 'Add Portal'.

Now I select one array from the available systems ( I normally select the master) and move it to the right, then click OK. Now in the 'Portal Configuration' window I rigth click the array under 'Portals' and select 'Add Storage System' --> this is where you type in the ip address of the window server that will be managing the arrays. It may take several minutes for the windows server ip address (portal) to appear under the 'Monitors' tab. When it does right click on the ip address and select 'Monitor system'. Add all the relevant arrays ( one at the time). Now right click on the ip address again and highlight 'Selcet Global Template'. Check the properties of the template and make sure the 'Connect Home' box in the ConnectEMC tab is ticked - you need to be in engineering mode to see the properties. Finally make sure the EMC application ConnectEMC running on the windows server is configured to dial home with the 1800 numbers.

Hi all,

I have the same question with a different environment. We install CLARalert to monitor our first domain compose with CX4-960 and 480. Now we have another domain compose with 2 x CX4-240, and AX4-5. Can we set CLARalert to monitor also this domain? If yes how?

Thanks,
