SP ping to SMTP server
Guys,
Is there a navicli command to test pinging from an SP to an SMTP relay host? I need a simple way to do this in order to check firewall status.

You want to take a look at the Command Reference for Block for the specifics - your best will be will to look at the "eventmonitor -monitor -responsetest" series of commands. These will let you test your email settings, but doesn't give you a good way to actually ping the host. You can set everything up, run the response test (eventmonitor -monitor -responsetest -email -smtpmailserver) to your specifc SMTP host, then check your Event Log. You should get some useful information about the failed message to help troubleshoot further.
It's a real stretch, but if you happen to have iSCSI configured, you can use "connection -pingnode -sp" to try and issue a ping from the iSCSI port. Best practices, however, mean that your iSCSI network is a different subnet from the management network, so this probably won't work. You could, however, temporarily set the iSCSI IP on the management network, if you have no other way to check things out.
Let us know if this helps!

disconnect network cable from one of th SPs, assign its IP address to your laptop and ping/traceroute ..etc. ICMP ping might be blocked on your SMTP server anyway, try to telnet to port 25.
