Unbounded Disks
Hello,
can you please explain what really is an unbounded disks, we have few disks located in our Clariion CX-4.
1) Can i use them for creation of a pool.
2) There is a pool created in the array with the unbounded disks but no LUN created, can i use this pool for creation and assigning luns to the Hosts.
Thanks,

Hi Anil,
Unbound means they are not bound to any pools or raid groups, they are available to be used.
For a RAID Group: Unbound means that a RAID Group has been created, but that no LUNs have yet been bound on it.
For a Disk: They are not a part of any RAID Group or a Storage Pool and it is available for use.
Thanks
Jyothi
