Dell Compellent recommended LUN size for Hyper V

Hello Guys,

We are going to provision a storage from Dell compellent SC 4020 for 48TB to a new environment, we end up in a confusion to decide with the size of LUN. Please suggest.

Option1 : 24 * 2 TB =48 TB

Option 2: 8 * 6 TB =48TB

Model : SC 4020

Host details : Microsoft Hyper –v 2012 ( it can support up to 64 TB LUNs)

Thanks
Saran

It would be difficult to make recommendations without insight into your environment. Your best option is to take a look at the Best Practices guide and come to your own conclusions on how to configure the storage based on your own environment.

    Why not 1x48TB?

Maybe you can gain profits from DataProgression, Compression, Deduplication, Snapshots and  Replication - these processes work on the basis of single volume...
