Dell Storage Manager Client

Hi.

I have an sc4020 that i'm trying to manage through the Dell SMC, but it says that the system requries update to be managed - to be exact: "Management of storage centers with version 6.7.22.7 is no longer supported. Update storage center to the latest available version"

I have now updated it, and it seems to just find the same version.

Restarting Dell SMC does not seem to help.

Should there be a newer version i'm not able to download? Or does the storage center need to be rebooted?

Well... i dont know what SMC ist but the DSM is available as a Windows and Linux Client app. The software can be used to connect directly to the SCOS or to a DSM DataCollector formaly kown as "Enterprise Manager" which is connected to all of your compellents.

So what exactly do you use and where to connect to? Keep in mind that all versions are bind together and its not possible to connect with a rescent DSM version to an old SCOS and vice versa.

Update of a SC4020 is only possible with the help with Dell Support because they have to unlock the download. Yes i am aware that other ways might exit... but if you have Support you should ask them which is the right one.

SCOS 6.7 is very old and i have in mind that your first SC4020 comes with these version.

Joerg
