Preparing for the Storage Center Command Set 6.0 – Originally posted By jbraun, 03 Nov 2010
jbraun - In just a short time from now, Compellent will be releasing its new version of the Storage Center Command Set 6.0 for use with Windows PowerShell. This new version includes a number of features including new cmdlets that support the configuration and management of Live Volume as well as Remote Data Instant Replay (Asynchronous Replication). Along with new features, the syntax of many of the existing cmdlets has changed to simplify their use, provide naming consistency across cmdlets, as well as increase the availability of pipelining results from one cmdlet to another.
It is important to note that scripts written for the Storage Center Command Set 5.x or earlier should be thoroughly reviewed as these changes could impact their operation. However, customers are not required to upgrade to the new version unless they wish to take advantage of the new functionality provided with Live Volume and Replication. As part of the new User Guide for the Storage Center Command Set, we are including information on migrating your existing scripts including examples of the syntax changes as well as sample code for using multiple versions of the snap-in in a single script.
Thank you for your support!
