SC8000 Memory Size Mismatch

Hi All,

I have a faulty memory module in my SC8000 primary controller. Seems to be one 4GB DIMM. Is there a way I can check this from the command line to see what module went bad in what slot?  I can't find a way in Unisphere or the Storage manager. Unit is probably way out of support at this time and is only being used in our legacy QA environment.

Thanks

Hi @npolite2,

If Storage Manager's storage logs aren't listing anything about the memory issue, then you might need to access to iDRAC lifecycle logs to check the issue.

Storage logs page 618: https://dell.to/3HBE6Ot

Thank you for the reply! I was able to see in the iDRAC that the memory module on the controller has a 4GB module instead of an 8GB one. Is there anything special about the DDR3 1333 or can I put in a DDR3 ECC registered memory module?

Thanks

npolite2,

If you are asking if it is specific to that dimm spec, the answer would be no as the SC8000 supports multiple models and sizes of 1333 DDR3 ECC registered dimms, but also supports some 1600Mhz as well.

Let me know if this helps, or if I misunderstood your question.
