SCv2000 Move drives to another enclosure / Unmanaged Disk

I have 2 SCv2000 Compellent enclosures which were purchased at the same time and configured identical.
I would like to move the disks from one enclosure to the other.  We are only using a single enclosure now and would like to maximize available storage in the enclosure.
I removed the drives from the enclosure that is no longer in use and installed them in the other enclosure.
The drives are recognized by the enclosure and placed in the Disk folder with the other disks, but they are all listed as Unmanaged.  I am unable to add these disks to the available storage.
Attached screenshot from Dell Storage Manager client showing the unmanaged disks.Screenshot 2023-07-28 at 11.03.33 AM.png
We do not have a support contract on this unit.
Thanks

Ah ok..... thats the problem. There are infos stored on the disk which belong to the old SC and RAID.

Yes it possible to reset  those kind info and place the disk into the pool. No there is no GUI for that task and adv. command like skills are needed.

Hello InboundTech,

I think this will help: Manage Unassigned Disks

Do you have evacuate and release the disks in the old system first or just ripped them off after shutting down?

There is no option for Manage Unassigned Disks.  When I installed the disks in the enclosure, they were automatically added to the folder labeled "7K" and the only dialog option I have on those disks is "Toggle Indicator."
When I try to rebalance raid, it tells me rebalance is not needed.

We simply removed them.  The old system has been shut down more than a year.
I guess we should have released them in the old system first.  Is there a way to install these disks without releasing them from the old system?  It is currently powered down, disconnected, and sitting in the corner of a storage closet.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Can you point me in the right direction for those commands?  I assume I would need to enable SSH access to the system.

Thanks

You may can talk to Dell what it costs if they do it for you. I assume the SC secure console is configured already when speaking about your Firewall so when enabling it, the Dell support can reach the device through a VPN.

About placing back the disks into the old system..... because you havent take care about disk ordering when removing the disks it would be interessting whats happend when powering it on

Understood.  I don't have physical access right now.  Sounds like it would be best to get the drives back and release them in the other enclosure.

Thank you for your help.

Fortunately I do know what order the drives were in the old enclosure.  I will make sure to reinsert them in the same order before powering it on.

There is no SSH... you hook up a serial cable and connect to the leading controller.
