SCv3020 wont join domain

I can not get our storage center to join our domain. We renamed our SC from it's default SN{serial number} host name to one that fits our network specification for naming. Went into directory services settings, enabled it.. it gave me the auto configured stuff which was correct, changed the relative base DN to the OU that out SANs are placed into set the Base DN to the root folder that holds our user accounts and the SAN OU under it... set the LDAP domain, storage center host name is correct... directory type is active directory... URI's are all right. If I do a test server it works fine and gives me the message "Successfully test directory servers" However when I do a join domain using the admin user name as DOMAIN\adminuser with the correct password I get "Join domain failed for host: MGMT-SAN.Domainname.com" but with our domain name and our host name.. DNS Servers are pointing to the DNS servers set up on our active directory servers, in the DNS we have an A record for the SAN that has the same host name and points to the virtual management IP of the SAN. Reverse DNS also resolves correctly. Time server is set to the domain controller's so their time is in sync. In the SC logs there is the following Join domain failed for host MGMT-19-SAN.Domainname.com CADSJoin failed: cmdline is [scjoin -Z 0 -v 2 -A DOMAINNAME\adminusername -P ********** -- tls 0 -H "ldap://OURSERVERNAME:389" --real DOMAINNAME MGMT-19-SAN.DOMAINNAME.COM] error dns rEVERSE LOOKUP FAILED FOR FQDN MGMT-19-SAN.Domainname.com (but when I do it manullay its correct) Last kerberos/AD join statis is: join failed if I do a NSLOOKUP on the DNS locally on the domain controller the reverse entry returns correct for the IP of the SAN's virtual management IP What am I missing?

Did you resolve this issue?  I was about to post a similarly confounding issue joining AD.

    Yeah ours was weird...

    it was a case issue..

IN Storage center 2018 our netwrok had a domain set to Ourdomain.com (notice the cap O, every time you typed in a name it would auto cap the first letter on save)

but when you went to directory services, the LDAP domain was made to match that network domain, but our DNS has the PTR record all in lower case so it never matched what was returned, they must check case sensitivity which is pointless in DNS.

I could not get that cap to go away, until I erased the domain from the network settings then changed directory services to have a lower case LDAP domain... after that it joined just fine

can you help me with this problem i also have the same problem

Storage Center hostname must resolve to the management IP - Last Kerberos/AD join status is: IP/Name mis-match - Rollback MC:MCLDAP

    ALEXANDERITIL,

I would suggest calling in to support, as it can be a complex resolution and will likely require direct access to the device and logs.
