I have archive manager for exchange running on a virtual cluster and the backup (ARCserve) speed for that volume is running really slow (140MB/Min). If I map the volume to a physical server and back it up from there the speed improves to about 370MB/Min) still slower than I'd like but at least it can finish the backup over the weekend. 

So my questions are two fold. First any idea why this is running so much slower in my Hyper-V environment and what if anything can I do about that?  And two, if that is not fixable, is there a way to map that volume to the physical server as a read-only volume. I saw that was an option but when I map it like that the volume is not readable on the second server. 

Any help would be appriciated.
