Brocade Switch
Hi There
After upgrading the brocade switch DS4100. It is complaining with the following error:
[Error]: Error when setting trunking for port 17 - Trunking license
required
We ve got two switches Brocade and Cisco. But there is no communication between the two switches. I have upgraded to a 32 ports from 24 ports. I did install the lisence to activate the ports. But now it's only 2 ports that activated. Error above.
Regards,
TKM

you can check all installed licenses with the command licenseshow. Since you upgraded the switch to more usable ports you should see one or more ports on demand licenses in the output.
A trunking license is only required if this switch is connected to another switch (ISL) and you want to use trunking.

If you want to use a single ISL, you don't need a license, but if you want to use more ISL and trunk them together, you do need that license.
You're correct on this !
