Yes -- have looked into NPIV but we do not have HBAs with the required code level and our VMWare environment has not done virtual HBAs to this point. I guess this delay our ECC virtualization but we can work towards it. I wanted another opinion since EMC wanted me to bring in professional services to get my answer.

I opened a case but since it wasn't "break/fix", the suggestion was to request support from professional services from my local office. Professional services = $$$

i hope they would not charge you just to offer some suggestions ?

for questions like that i typically get my TC involved, if he does not know he finds somebody who knows the answer.
