Device rediscovery failed for switch 100000051e36475a due to Port validatio

Hi All,

Can anybody tell me about the below error? I used to get everyday 10-15 error:

---Device rediscovery failed for switch 100000051e36475a due to Port validation failed

I have more than 30 switched but not able to zoning from ECC. I do zonig stuff using webtool.I am not sure this error comes from ECC because ECC is not able communicate properly to Switch.

Can anybody point out where is problem lies?

Thanks,
Diwakar

I am now getting this error after fighting with connectivity discover for my Brocade switches. What is this alert trying to tell me? Of course in my case the WWN is different, well it's reporting the switchname anyway.

Are the login credentials correct ? If 1 switch is discovered, ECC will know there are more switches and tries to login to each switch. If the login credentials are unknown, ECC cannot discover those "unknown" switches.

Hi did you solve this? I am having this issue re-discovering a single Cisco switch. This and about 30 other problems discovering Cisco switches. I have eaten up about 3 days now on this.

You will need to go through assisted discovery and for each switch supply the username and password to login to it and then ecc will discover it.
