how many buffers are needed for normal SW operation ?

I'm facing the following:

MDS9124e with 1 DS-CWDM4G-1550 in 1 port. The other visible ports (it's a HP Blade thingy, so 16 ports are "on the inside / invisible") are to be used to connect 4 external physical hosts.
the distance we need to cross over LW is 22km, so if I'm correct this would take up 44 buffers, so on the same port group I still have 20 bufffers left. Is that enough for 4 locally attached hosts ?

Port groups are made up of 4 ports per group in a physical MDS switch
3 additional hosts (not 4) --> 1 for long distance and 3 local.

20 Buffers shared between 3 hosts (6 per host) are enough for each host to be 3km away from the switch. Since they are very local (5 meters or so) this is no issue at all.
So can I assume that for a local host which is only a few meters away only 1 buffer is needed ?
