Low lights on ports
We have windows host connected to two SAN Brocade switches. We were seeing low light on both the ports of switches slot2/port28.We have done the following
1)HBAS from host were replaced
2)new cables were laid from Host to both the switches.low light remains.
3)Swapped the cabels to free ports on both switches and checked RX and TX power by sfpshow command.Still seeing low light
Only thing remaining is sfp module swap which may not be necessary as we cant have sfp modules failing on both switches.
Is there anything else whcih I might have missed. If at all this is Host issuse what can be done?Is there anything on switch which may result in this?
Thanks

RX Power: 1.2 uWatts
TX Power: 0.0 uWatts
This should be atleast 200 watts.

In this situation, you can try using a known good hba + cable in the suspect switch port to verify the SFP is fine. Then you can try a known good hba with the suspect cable to verify the cable is fine.
I have seen a situation where the switch cabinet door when closed is bending cables at an angle which is a concern. Also I have seen issues with bad fibre patch panels where running a cable over the floor tiles highlighted the issue.
