No Powerpath/VE support for CX700?

Unless I'm missing something, PP/VE for vSphere is supported only on AX, CX3, and CX4.  We have a CX4-960, but we'd need to move everything over to it.

This, of course, brings up the question of PP/VE behavior on ESX connected to both CX700 and CX4...

Thanks!

vSphere is not supported on CX models that's probably why you don't see PP/VE support for it.

I don't think you are quite correct dynamox. If you check the HCL on VMware's website you will actually find that the CX3 and CX4 are certified. CX700 is a no-go. Powerpath/VE should work with CLARiiON arrays with FLARE 23 or higher:
•    AX series (AX 4-5 arrays only)

•    CX3 series

•    CX4 series

But I would recommend you check your configuration in the E-lab interoperability navigator.

i guess the word "series" is a better choice than "model"

I'd have to side with dynamox in his statement that CX series are not supported. It may seem like a fine distinction, but CX3 and CX4 are not "CX" series in the same way a CX3 is not a CX4. EMC just didn't name the original CX with clearly distinguished series names (since CX600 and CX700 were technically different generations).

So I guess the question in general is... how do other people interpret "CX"? Do they generally interpret it to mean everything from a CX200 to a CX4-960? Or just CX200 to CX700? If the general consensus is a broader product series, I guess some of us will need to be more careful how we use it.
