We have recently enabled NPIV on our McData 6140's, attached to Brocade embedded blade switches (installed in HP C-class blade chassis).

We have not run in to any problems with it, seems to work just fine. Only thing I know of to watch our for on McData's is that the default NPIV Login Limit per port by default is set to 1. Kind of silly if you ask me. But, that's a simple port-level change so no big deal. Also on McData you have to install the feature key AND enable it.

But technically we have not run across any reasons to not use it. It will sure save us a lot of fiber.

I have 2 DS-24M2 i prod in a Open fabric. In default mode and interop mod not active. Domain ID`s 1-2

I have now 2 c-Class with Brocade 4/12 sw ( total of 4 ) Domain ID`s 100 to 104

These I will ISL connect to both my DS-24M2 in two fabric`s ( Domain ID 1, 100 and 103 and Domain ID 2, 101 and 104 )

C-Class B-sw will be prinsipals and DS will be default`s

Category: FC Switches
Itemcode: DS-24M2-REF
Firmware 06.02.00

B- firmware 5.03.0c
Type: 43.0
Role: principal

I know I have to upgrade to DS firmware 09.00.xx

At this time i can not change the R_A_TOV 10000 and E_D_TOV 2000 so that they have the same mill sec as my DS : 100-20

What did you do to configure your M and B switches to talk?
