Spotted: Cisco's new Nexus 1000V
On VMworld 2008 Cisco announced the new Nexus 1000V virtual switch. With a true Cisco command line, running on NX-OS and you can define ACL's per VM that stick with your VM even when you VMotion it to another ESX4 host. Expected in 1H2009.
I'm very curious what this means for LAN and SAN connecivity, because the Nexus 5k and 7k's can do both LAN and SAN in the same piece of hardware.
