what gives!

I just upgraded FM from 3.2xx to 3.3(1a) to correct an issue with show tech support command not completing in FM and now I find that the 'Clone' feature in Edit Zoneset and Clone an existing zone name is gone.
Sorry, I guess I am just venting. That feature was a great timesaver for me.

Hello,

I discussed the removal of the clone feature a few weeks ago with Cisco and they noted they removed it due to bug with it. They plan to return it to FM once they have fixed the issue.

Please note that 3.3(1a) both FM and SAN-OS is not supported by EMC. We will most likely be going with 3.3(1c) instead due to issues found in testing.

Thank you.

I just checked to be sure: EMC doesn't support any SAN-OS over 3.2(3a) yet as CiscoKid said.

the bug I was fixing by going to 3.3(1a) was to fix show tech support details timing out and not completing in FM. Now show tech support seems like its in a loop - it never ends!

I know another upgrade is coming for me.

Cisco is working to resovle the bug and return the clone feature. No release is noted yet when that will be done.

In regards to the show tech issues, there were additional bugs that Cisco found with running the logs and they are fixed in 3.4(1). I haven't heard of any issues that make them hang indefinitely though. Are you calling it from a script? Have you tried to run the show tech from your console connection instead of over the network?

Thank you.

I'm not sure I understand the problem you are noting Jimbo. What's the issue?

Thank you.

I upgraded FM last week and for another issue, ran the show tech support from launching DM and from the pulldown in DM.
I haven't done any other tests regarding show tech support.
I haven't opened an SR about it and not sure if I want to at this point. I've got too many other things happening.

Hello,

FM and SAN-OS 3.3(1a) are not EMC supported due to testing failures. Are these EMC sold and supported switches? Neither FM 3.3(1a) or 3.1(2b) were released. (3.1(2b) was restricted release for Recoverpoint only). If they are EMC sold and supported switches, I'd recommend upgrading to 3.3(1c) for both FM and SAN-OS.

Thank you.

if I launch the 'show tech support' from inside Device Manager, it never ends/completes. I stopped it yesterday after it grew to 46MB.
I haven't done any other testing but it does it on both my 9513 directors now that I am running FM 3.3(1a). I'm not talking about the SAN-OS, that's at 3.1(2b).

they are emc supported and all updates were done under the direction of EMC. 3.1(2b) SAN-OS was implemented at the time to deal with IVR support.
I just completed migrating off of our McData directors so IVR support is no longer required and since we just purchased RecoverPoint and Invista, I'm sure we will be upgrading soon.

Thanks for everything.

Where do you find this information? Is there a place on powerlink that shows supported versions of Cisco SAN OS?

Information on EMC supported versions of SAN-OS is available on Powerlink through either ELab Navigator or the overall EMC Support Matrix.

Thank you.

I'm an EMC parner, so I found it in the partner section. Your EMC partner should know this too. Ask him. 3.3.1a was never supported, 3.3.1c is !
