zone sets information

I need to power down a DS 24 M2 switch. I would like to save the zones information before I do that. How can I have it exported to a file? I don't see any option for that on the GUI. I am using Connectrix Manager Basic edition. Same with the Port list, node list?

Thanks

I forgot how the GUI for McData is called, but if you browse to the switch (http:// ) you can get a txt file (presented in your browser) of the setup of your switch. Everything is in there, wwn's, domain ids, zones.

I wish I had access to a McData, in that case I could tell you the buttons to click. I think it is the "monitor" button and on the right the 3rd button or something. I'm not sure, since I'm doing this out of the top of my head and I haven't seen a McData around in years.

But for sure: you can extract the config to a txt file using the GUI.

RRR,

I dont see that on my connectrix manager. May be because I have the basic edition.

Someone told me I have to use the 'backup configuration' option and that will store all the config to an xml file. Obviously I dont want to do that now since it is a production switch. If I cant find any other way, I will do that right before shutdown.

Thank you for your response.

Yes, I can. I did backup configuration and saved all the zoning info into an xml file.

But that's not what I meant. Unfortunately I have no access to any McData ATM, otherwise I'd direct you to the correct menu item. It's there, trust me.

As soon as I have access, I'll check it for you.

Finally I got my hands on a McData switch:

In order to get a txt file off of your switch, http to your switch and click on the following:
Operations (on the left), maintenance, product info

When you clicked on "product onfo" you get a screen with all switch info in txt format, inclusing zones, aliases, fabric info, wwn's, port settings, everything you need to know.
