Dell uses CEVA?

I received a notification from Dell 2 days ago saying my order has shipped.  I was provided a FedEx tracking number and it indicates it is shipping via FedEx Priority Overnight.  So far FedEx is not in possession of my package.  I checked on their website and I noticed the package is being handled by a shipping company called CEVA (my guess CEVA will transfer it to FedEx and why FedEx is not in possession of my package).  That certainly explains why the package is in a dead zone somewhere and why FedEx has not received it yet.

Why does Dell use CEVA?  They are the most unreliable company on the planet.  I read other posts by other users who have experienced this same problem.

Has anyone else had this experience?  I paid a good price for my Alienware R16 and I think Dell needs to re-evaluate their use of CEVA.

Bear in mind that it's not a one-unit shipment.  Dell does not manufacture your system -- a contractor does (Foxconn, Compal, Quanta, etc. depending on the system type), and international bulk shipping is involved (Dell notebooks come from China and desktops come either from there or Mexico).

If the system ships from China, it can take several days to appear in your country.  If you're in the US, desktops made in Mexico can still take time to reach the Fedex logistics center -- where the tracking number becomes active and the clock on the next day delivery starts running.

Thanks for that.  I suspected the unit was at least assembled in Mexico considering it shows it will ship from El Paso.  CEVA gives me no hope I'll get it any time soon.  I used to work for a company that had several complaints with them, and it seems they have done nothing to improve their service.  I do have full confidence in FedEx to get me my computer once they get it in their hands.
