SERIOUSLY disappointed

I received an email from Dell that said I made a purchase I didn't make: <To protect you, your private information was removed from public view. All private data was saved to your private Case. DELL-Admin>

I tried multiple times both online & by phone to try to find out how this happened & to report this attempted fraud but the menu choices were so limited, simplistic I was never able to talk to a real person.  AND... AND... for the first time ever I had an automated "assistant" actually hang up on me.

I've been buying Dell computers for decades but am seriously considering finding an alternative as Dell clearly does not value having any substantive customer support &/or a considerate & capable AI interface if that is what I dealt with.

Please use the online "Report Suspicious Activity" form.

If this involved an actual charge to an account of yours, immediately notify the financial institution.  Otherwise, there are limitations on what any organization can do to prevent phishing, and similar attempts.  Never open anything and never click on a link that's not verifiably from the organization it is supposed to be from.
