Wrong dates creating an issue.
Hello,
I purchased my system on April 17th 2014 from India, so the expiry date of warranty should be till april 16 2015 right?
SO when i called for a help in my system i got to know that the warranty has already expired and it started in november 2013 and ended in november 2014.
So what should i do now? I cannot get help from anywhere.

If the system was purchased at retail, it needs to be registered to activate the warranty:
< >
If you purchased the system from a private seller, you'll need to contact them to see what the warranty is.
Note, however: the basic warranty that comes with new systems covers only the country of purchase. An international warranty is at extra cost and starts by purchasing an onsite service plan and then, using this link,
< >
Transferring the warranty to the new country.

Hi Vishwash,
Thanks for posting on the USA Community Forum. Unfortunately we're located in the US and do not have access to accounts in India. You will have to contact Customer Support in your country for resolution. Thanks.
Regards,
Robert

The date of the official dell invoice for a new computer bought directly from Dell determines the warranty period. You might not be able to use the warranty here in US if it was purchased in India. Did you buy from some other source--reseller or auction? Warranty does not apply for computers bought used or from unapproved resellers.
See if this helps-- http://www.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/global/shared/support/dellcare/international_travel?c=us&l=en&cs=04
Or see the global transfer link on that page.

The Warranty generally starts around the 1st day of invoice for the unit. I have noticed that for units sold at retail stores like Walmart and Best Buy, they will add a few months to the warranty to account for the units waiting to be purchased. Regardless I have seen several posts of Customers purchasing units in India with the same problem. It really depends on if you purchased from a Dell authorized place (or Dell itself). If not, then Dell will not extend the warranty period from when YOU purchased the item and not the original seller.
