Datadomain 3300 - Reboot network -

Hello,

When I've just rebooted my network conectivity my DataDomain gave me a lot of erro's like:

Does it mean that DataDomain sends some data to emc.com?

What kind of data and for what reason it sends?

DNSUnresponsive

Message:Unable to communicate with configured DNS.

Severity:CRITICAL

Class:Network

Object ID:

Event ID:EVT-NETM-00009

Additional Info:DNS-Servers = see output from net show dns

Status:Cleared

Description:

No DNS servers responded to a DNS query. This may be caused by a network failure or a DNS server problem. System functions that require name address resolution will fail.

Action:

Check the network path and the DNS server to establish communication or remove the DNS entries and add host entries to the hosts table. If this problem persists, contact your contracted support provider or visit us online at https://support.emc.com .

Hello marcing,

You can have your Data Domain set so that it can email alerts to EMC.  Here is the link to the administrator guide & if you look on page 139 it explains how to configure the email alerts. https://www.emc.com/collateral/TechnicalDocument/docu85190.pdf

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
