DataDomain Client Logs?

Full Disclaimer; I'm a network engineer that has little faith in our current contractor that is responsible for our Data Domains.  Since his answer to the following question was unsatisfactorily vague, I've come to the experts.

Does the Data Domain (in this case, a DD2500) contain any logs that would help identify what clients are backing up data to the DD?

More specifically, said contractor is asking me to tell him who is backing up to a specific IP address on his DD2500.  Without a sniffer or setting up a SPAN port on the switch, this is not readily available information on my end.  It seems highly unlikely (to the uninitiated such as myself) that the Data Domain would not know this information already.

If this is well known information, please tell me how I could find it quicker.  I did a bunch of Google-Fu before posting this.  Thanks for any help that could be provided.
