DDBEA "tuning"?

Is there anything in DDBEA itself that can be adjusted for "tuning" performance?

Or does it just "do what it is told" by whatever software it is being used by? (SQL and Oracle in the cases I am looking at)

(looking more for how to increase performance than how to restrict usage, FWIW)

No hits if I search for "tuning" in the DDBEA docs or release notes - also no hits for "DDBEA tuning" on EMC Support.
