DDBoost Object-level Recovery

Currently I've got SQL Litespeed running to backup my SQL servers to our DD2200. We've got some performance issues (where the backup takes longer than it used to prior to using the DD2200) that we're trying to resolve. One option I've come up with is to use DDBoost for Microsoft Applications. I've run a test backup and while the performance seems to be back in line with the timings prior to DD I've come across a couple of other items:

1. When I run the backup to my storage unit I see what looks like a folder that corresponds to my source server. I'm assuming this is the backup file? When I click on the folder to see what's in it inside Windows Explorer I get an "access denied". Is there a way to see what backups are currently in this folder? I need a way for our SQL admin to see what dates are currently available.

2. Currently we have the ability to do object-level recovery from Litespeed the way the backups are currently configured (sent to DD2200 as a CIFS share). So far using DDBoost I am not sure how I can do object-level recovery since it's using SQL Server's native backup application (which doesn't provide object-level recovery). I thought about just accessing the backups that were created from the DDBoost backup using Litespeed but can't because I get an "access denied" error. Is there a way to fix either my "access denied" message or a different way I can use these backups to perform object-level recoveries?

Thanks.
