Dedicated Interface : DD replication
Has anyone configured a dedicated interface for replication ?
EMC KB says this as best practice https://emc--c.na5.visual.force.com/apex/KB_HowTo?id=kA0700000004S4R
However , no mention of how to dedicate a interface for replication traffic alone ...

Hi.
Configure the replication context ie.
replication add source mtree://source/mtree_name destination mtree://destination/mtree_name
Then change the interface:
replication modify mtree://destination/mtee_name connection-host xxxxxx
Where xxxxxx will be something like repl-port....
repl-port needs to be configured as a separate network interface on both the source and destination devices.
eth0a - management traffic
eth0b - replication traffic
If you don't use DNS then make sure you configure repl-port in the host file
net host add 10.10.10.10 repl-port

Thanks Ignes on the tips on how to configure DD replication using dedicated interface.while adding a hosts in the hosts file Thanks Dynamox , for the complete steps you provided in your blog on how to get DD replication working on a dedicated interface .Gave me better understanding of how it should be done.
Appreciate you guys for taking the time out to help others with your knowledge .
