EMC DD 880 Restore Time
Customer has a legacy backup and is moving to a new backup environment.
Customer primarily wants to restore Legacy Long Retention data backup, which is stored in Data Domain 880 in the legacy environment.
Total legacy data volume residing in Data Domain with Networker is 55 TB Post Compressed (~632 TB Pre-Compressed).
Connectivity with the Data center fabric 16 Gb and LAN 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
- 1. How much time would it take to restore and drain the whole data as the devices are approaching EOSL?
Thanks In Advance...
Cheers!

Thanks Ryan.
We have 13 month window. Just require a standard assumption for the throughputs for these devices.
I have currently taken between ~50-100 GB/Hr.
Your Thoughts...
Thanks

This will vary a lot depending on number of streams, how many files, type of data, restore target, etc. Its probably going to take months to restore 632TB of data. How is the customer expecting to "drain" the data? Networker clone job to an advanced file type device? If the new backup environment includes a data domain there are a lot more practical options like mtree or VTL replication.

50-100GB/Hr sounds like a reasonable estimate. It is possible to get higher rates but I think it is a good idea to estimate low.
