DPA for RA

Question

Hi

We have SRDF/S deployed for DR across 2 sites (DMX4/VMAX).

If I want to monitor my Symmetrix environment to make sure that I have sufficient disks and R2 devices in my DR site paired with my source R1 devices on my production site. Would DPA for RA provide this type of view/report/functionality.

If in the event that we have to invoke DR we do not want to risk not having enough disks and R2 devices on the DR site. If we do not then is it possible to get a report or alert to notify our storage admins.

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the delay in replying, I wanted to get the answer confirmed before I replied.

The answer is yes. DPA validates that all the primary devices of the application (R1) are replicated (R2) and in if they are not, DPA generates the "Partially Replicated" alert. Additionally DPA verifies that the replication is done correctly (Consistency) and according to the required policy (RPO violation), and also has some other alerts such as Link Down, Access to the DR host, etc.
