Tech Tip: VNX Discovery within DPA

QUESTION:

Can I discover a VNX over DPA?  Will this be  supported by the DPA version 5.8?  As I see in the actual support matrix  for DPA 5.7.1 only Symmetrix, Clariion or Celerra is supported.

ANSWER:

VNX is supported in the current version 5.7.1, but the user will see the block array under the CLARiiON section and the VNX File Storage  under the Celerra section. The support includes the RA for block and the current support for Celerra.

In 5.8 (GA later this month) the user will see the VNX block under the VNX/CLARiiON section and the File under the EMC File Storage section. The support will be extended and will include Asset Management, Configuration, Capacity Planning, Change Management & RA for the Block.
