Thanks! I will take a look at that too.

Did you have to re-install windows on the new nvme drive or you just cloned the old one to the new drive ?

I tried this a few weeks back and it seems to work! No new parts or anything so might be worth to give this a shot first!

Referring to Jon Peligroso's post:

"I found a solution to this, my problem was identical. I was working without the Intel graphics driver as a workaround, as I disabled it after reading posts like yours, but that meant I could not use a monitor. I found an article online that worked. Here's what they recommended.

Step 1: Enable the Intel Iris Driver and connect to a monitor so you can see (as your laptop screen will go back to black)

Step 2: Go to Intel driver download and update the driver (I'm not putting the step by step for that). I'm using driver 25.20.100.6373

Step 3. Shut down the laptop.

Step 4. Remove the back of the laptop, this takes a Torx #5 and a small Phillips head.

Step 5. Unplug the battery for 5 mins.

Step 6. Put it all together, turn it on and the laptop is fixed upon powering it up.

I bought the torx set for $5 on Amazon and it's done. I'm sure this will come back to haunt me, but I know how to replace it when it happens again. This is an otherwise great product, but this is totally unacceptable. I'm going for a Macbook Air next time. "

Just completed Jon Peligroso's suggestion. I did notice the Display Adapter comes up as Intel Graphics 520 vs 540 but all appears to be working fine - time will tell (and fingers crossed). I'll keep you posted. . . .

It's been a few weeks now and all appears to be working fine. Any problems I'll let you know. Let's keep our fingers crossed. . . .

Hi All,

I started having the same issue as all of you in this thread about two months ago and I've basically been stuck using my laptop as a desktop. I tried Jon's solution as described before, but that wouldn't work for me.

I was able to get my laptop back up and running by just updating the bios to the latest version (1.9.0 at the time of this post), reinstalling windows using microsoft's usb creation tool (NOT the recovery partition dell included on my laptop, though I did not try using it, both may work, ymmv), and running windows update and allowing it to install the graphics driver. For me, Iris 540 25.20.100.6323 was installed by windows update and appears to be working fine. It appears that this updated some firmware on the device as well since my ubuntu install (which previously had the same backlight on with no image issue) is now working as well.

Hope this helps!

http://www.santoshsingh.net/dell-xps-13-display-driver-issues-and-blank-screen-fix/ Here is a fix that worked for me. Just got your motherboard cleaned.

So SKS, What's the cost for a motherboard cleaning? Like I said, mines been working fine for quite a while now but you never know what the future holds.

Same problem here today.  Boss brought in his 9350 4k Touch model.  Same symptoms as everyone else here.  Tried everything:

Clear Bios, Reset Bios, Remove Bios Battery, Flash Bios, Reinstall Windows, Change Power Settings, Update all Drivers, Remove Battery, hold Power Button.

I resorted to just leaving it disabled so at least he can still travel with it.  I'm sure Dell wants at least $400 for an out of warranty board.  Sad.  I always recommended the XPS line and so far mine is the only one of the 5 purchases I've gotten people to make that has not had a problem at all.

Hi All,

I had the exact same problem with my XPS 13 9350 and now I have it all fixed after so many reloads of Windows and specific driver installs and hardware tweaks. Display now works 100% with the driver.

I can give you the full solution.

Please email me on:
