DDPE Windows 10 Pro Spinning Issues at log on

Currently we have multiple machines with the same issue, and that is when the user log onto the computer they get the spinning logo and can wait for a long time, or click ctrl alt del and can log on.

Looking to see if this is a known issue.

Reason why I think it is DDPE is I imaged a new computer and it did the same thing. Plus I read a white page where it listed all the versions and updates and it said something about this but I can not find that any longer. It was related to Dell Authority and since we don't use that I thought nothing more.

  • We thought it was related to Cisco AnyConnect but we have removed that from that fresh imaged computer and it did the same thing.
  • Updated Windows 10 to the latest version.
  • DDPE we currently are at 8.10.1.147 and we only have this issue on Win10, not Win 7..
  • Shield is active and in blue.

I'm thinking we need to update DDPE , but I need to show that DDPE is the issue and this is the fix.

I'm going to try a test like updating a few things that I do have control over. Like Bios, C++2010 SP1, C++2012 Update 4 or higher, TPM is enabled, Control Vault firmware and drivers are installed. These might be addressed already, but things I wrote down in my recent research on this issue.

This is the enterprise version in a corporate environment. I am the desktop admin , so I can do 99% of the updates on the computers, just not Credant version itself

Hi sramsey8,

we have made multiple improvements in this area, and we were seeing issues surrounding login and key access issues based on how we were handling named pipe items. We have made some changes around this in our latest 8.12 client. This is purely conjecture based on your description here. We can confirm with a set of logs. Opening a ticket with our support queues would allow us to troubleshoot this completely to confirm.

feel free to DM me if you are not able to get headway or if you need more information about what has changed :)
