Discovery task cannot be saved error

Hello,

I have an OME appliance version 3.9.0 (build 55) and i am facing a problem with a specific Poweredge R930 server.

In total i have 16 Poweredge R930 and 15 have no issues. This specific server reported error in devices menu.

I attempted to rescan the device but the issue was not fixed.

After that, i deleted the device and tried to discover the server again through Monitor -> Discovery -> Create (Create Discovery Job) but i am getting the error "Discovery task cannot be saved" when i attempt to do that.

I tried to reset iDRAC using the command

racadm reset

but the issue was not resolved.

I also tried to reboot the whole server but i am still getting the same error.

The credentials are correct since i am using the same credentials to connect to iDRAC and ssh without problem.

I read in another post that a similar error was triggered when the password complexity is not strong enough but i am sure that this is not the issue because the pattern of the password is similar to the one that i used for the other 15 servers.

Can you please advise?

Best Regards,

Stavros

Hello @tuccero9,

What about the firmware levels on this server? Is it up to date? Is it in the same network that the other servers?

Regards.

Hello @DiegoLopez

Yes all firmware levels (BIOS version, Firmware version, Lifecycle Controller, Network devices, storage controllers) are on the same version as all the other machines.

The iDRAC network of this server is on the same network subnet as another 1 of the devices which have healthy status on OME.

Best Regards,

Hello @tuccero9,

In that case, I thins this would require a log analysis. If you have an active ProSupport warranty on the server you can contact with Phone Support and request the case to be escalated to OME support.
