Docker errors when upgrading for 4.2.x to 4.3.1

Hello,

I was stepping through updates from 4.0.x and got to 4.2 without issue. However, when I went to upgrade to 4.3.1, the appliance reboots and displays error messages re: the Docker application engine failing to start. Eventually the tui loads up but doesn't recognize my admin password.

I ended up reverting the snapshot in VMWare back to 4.2. I looked at the other post in this board regarding a similar situation and verified that the VM definitions meet the "recommended" specs so adjusting those doesn't seem to be the issue here. I have no plugins installed -- just a custom cert with LDAP groups/logins configured.

I noticed that after the 4.2 update, I had a discovery scan that kept trying to launch. So, I've left the machine sit for a while for the DB/machine refresh to do their respective things. Thoughts?

This morning, I tried a couple of scenarios:

1. Signed in with an LDAP-enabled admin account and tried to clear the download cache. Same error as before. (This has worked for years previously)

2. After reverting the VM, I killed the download cache and logged in and rebooted the appliance before beginning. Then, I logged in as the local admin and things took longer but did end up being successful.

I certainly don't understand what happened here unless something changed with security settings that don't allow admin-level accounts to install software. (If they aren't to be used, why does the UI let you do it?)

Thanks for the eyes here.

Hello,

Have you tried :

Clear browser cache?

Try different browser?

I see you have already tried some of the other posts on the forum.

Did you try setting all the hardware requirements to the max listed page 19-24

Hardware Configuration:

RAM - 64 GB

Processor - cores 8

Hard drive space - 830 GB

Next could you try redownloading in case there was a bad download?

@DELL-Charles R

Browser Cache/Browser selection: N/A. The errors I see are at the console and the web service(s) do not come back up.

VM specs: As I said previously, yes, the specs are as described.

How do I re-download if this is done with the in-engine download button?

Hello,

I need to check in to that with one of the Systems Management Engineers.

I found this but it is for setting up a new OME and not an upgrade:

Dell OpenManage Enterprise version 4.3.1

Hello,

Try this to clear the local OME cache:

Application Settings > Console and Plugins > Update Settings

Set it to Local and then set back to Online should clear your downloads cache.
