Fiirmware Baseline best practices?

Howdy,

I was testing out the Firmware Baseline stuff yesterday and have a question.  I was assuming that every time I wanted to push out some updates I'd have to create a new Baseline to see what was out of date.  However, I notice that I can select an existing Baseline and then choose Check Compliance.

Would it be best to simply create a Baseline called "Servers" (or whatever) and then just Check Compliance on that every time I go to see what's out of date?  Does that accomplish the same thing as creating a new Baseline and selecting the same devices that I selected in the first one?

Thanks.

If using the online catalog option, you can go to the catalog and Check for Update(it updates every 2 weeks). Then when it downloads you can go back to the existing baseline and select Check Compliance and it will compare the servers against the new catalog. That should keep you current.

Hi,

Given a baseline ID, is there an API that triggers the "Check Compliance" ?

Thanks. Does the online catalog update automatically? I've been going in and manually checking for updates every week or so.
