Firmware update based on OS running on the server

Hi,

I want to ask if it is possible to configure OpenManage Ent to provide updates based on OS running on the server?

I'm asking as OME is suggesting to update to latest version of firmware but this one is not suitable for OS running on the server. For example for QLE2690 Single Port 16Gb FC to PCIe Gen3 x8 Adapter it is suggesting firmware version 15.30.08 while for ESXi 6.7 most recent is 15.20.14. Can we somehow specify what OS is running on the server so OME knows which firmwares are ok for it?

OME version is latest 3.8.2

Hi Erman,

its a pity as now you need to anyhow check if suggested firmware is suitable for your current server configuration. Can you pass this request to dev team for future improvement?

Hello Dariusz,

I get what you mean and I think it's a good idea but unfortunately, it doesn't update firmwares suitable for OS. I looked for a workaround to check and update the firmware based on the OS, but I couldn't encounter it.
