OME 3.5 - DRM
- For catalogs on a Network Share (NFS/CIFS/HTTP/HTTPS), OME can download DUPs from directly from Dell.com; downloading DUPs manually or via DRM is not longer required.
Can anyone enlighten me what does this improvement in OME 3.5 means? I am expecting this improvement will allow to download older version FW without using DR, but I don't see any changes in the firmware/driver compliance functionality.

Hello,
thanks for contacted us. This is a new feature of this release.
It means that now catalogs with base location pointing to 'https://dell.to/3khNVDp' can be used without the Dell Update Packages (DUPs)
while importing catalog in OpenManage Enterprise version 3.5 from a network share. During the firmware upgrade
process, the DUPs will be downloaded directly from https://dell.to/2GQA2P4.
Thanks
Marco

Thank you for your reply. I was able to add a new catalog in the Catalog Management page, using Share Address as downloads.dell.com and Catalog File Path as catalog/Catalog.xml.gz. This was originally cannot be done in the old versions, right?
And one more question, can I know which Share Address / Catalog File Path can be used to download catalog files with older firmware versions (for Poweredge servers in particular)?
Note: The links 'https://dell.to/3khNVDp' , https://dell.to/2GQA2P4. are inaccessible anymore

Hi,
Yes, you're right. The FTP site, Downloads.Dell.com can be used as share address on the new version 3.5. It's the new enhancement.
About the download catalog files for older firmware version cannot be done, as the catalog is updated with newest version only.
The links provided by Marco should be routing to Downloads.Dell.com, it's probably our reply tool here had some issues with the URL shortener.

Thank you for the reply. Highly appreciate if you entertain my follow-up questions.
Does it meant that there is still no way to create a catalog baseline containing older firmwares, unless we use DRM?
If downloads.dell.com only contains catalog updated with the newest version, then might as well use the default 'Latest component versions on Dell.com' as catalog source when creating baseline since the former will also offer the newest version anyway. Am I missing an important point here? Please enlighten me.
