UPGRADE RAID 1 TO RAID 5
Hi Guys,
I have a PowerEdge T310 with 2 HDD (1TB, 1TB) and I decided to add 2 more HDD (2TB, 2TB) so I want to upgrade my RAID 1 to RAID 5 and join the other 2 news HDD of 2 TB. So I opened the Open Manage on the web site and try to reconfigure the raid 1 to add the others. But you see the new hdds as Ready, but I am not able to reconfigure the RAID 1 to make a RAID 5 by choosing the new HDD. I attached 2 pictures and as you can see those HDD are ready but when you reconfigure it you dont see those HDDS to select them.

Hello
I don't think the S100 supports reconfiguration. According to the documentation I have looked at you cannot change the RAID level, you can expand capacity if there is available space on the disks. You can also add disks to certain RAID levels to increase the size. You can double check this information in the OpenManage Server Administrator Storage manual. There is an OMSA storage manual that lists the reconfigure tasks available for our various controllers. I think OMSA 7.4 was the last version of OMSA support on 11th generation servers, but look at the manual for whatever version of OMSA you are using.

Hi.
I'd like to add those new HDD's, but I don's know how to do it? Will I need to delete Virtual Disk RAID 1 and make another with all disks to get a RAID 5? If I delete the virtual disk I will lose all data and I cannot happend.
Thanks

Do not create multiple threads on the same issue. If community members are not assisting then you can refer to your system documentation to answer most questions. Storage controller manuals can be found here:
